TIM GRIMM set for the next house concert at the Hedge's place

October 22nd, 2006........ Sunday, of course. :)

We had an excellent show and a wonderful day with Jason Wilber on June 11. Here's the site from that show. What better choice than to have his friend, someone he is recommending to us, as the next guest artist. Jason told us Tim was really good and told Tim we were cool so he put us together.

A quick word on the Jason show. Those of us who knew about him had a blast watching people seeing him for the first time as they tried to wrap their minds around how good it was - there were several songwriters in the crowd with eyes wide as saucers.

Tim Grimm is another songwriter like that. He's one of the best straight up American folk music writers out there. Below here I'll paste in some of his recent recognition. I had a nice long talk with him this morning and I can tell that he's a good person. I think we're in for something really exceptional so start helping us talk it around. One easy thing to do to start to help is to forward this URL to people you know who would be interested.

We'll have a lot more to post about Tim before the concert as well as details about the San Antonio aritsts who will share the stage and be a major part of the experience.

Click here to stream a short segment of Jason Wilber interviewing Tim Grimm on Jason's "In Search Of A Song" podcast. It's interesting that Tim is also an actor. Here's some info that I cut and pasted out of his bio.

"The way this talented artist can paint pictures dripping of time-honored Americana images with his words, can not help but evoke comparisons to everyone from Woody Guthrie and Steve Goodman to Nebraska-era Bruces Springsteen", said Midwest Beat Magazine. Recently, he has shared the stage with artists as diverse as Richard Thompson, Lowen and Navarro, Carrie Newcomer, and Ramblin' Jack Elliott. A few years ago, Tim Grimm returned home to southern Indiana after several successful years as an actor in Los Angeles. He co-starred in the NBC series Reasonable Doubts and appeared in half a dozen feature films, including Clear and Present Danger opposite Harrison Ford. He had left behind (in the Midwest) a reputation as an up and coming singer/songwriter whose skills were honed at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago. He also travelled and played now and again with friend Ramblin' Jack Elliott."
